About Amelia

You can understand the example in class and still feel completely stuck on the homework. I’m Amelia, and I like working through that gap with you: what changed, what information matters and which idea could give us a way in? My lessons leave room to think aloud and make a few wrong turns. I support IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA), Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation (AI), and Physics at SL and HL. We connect graphs, equations and models, while keeping the approach specific to your course: algebraic reasoning in AA, modelling and statistics in AI, or explaining a physical system in Physics. I enjoy sketching and logic puzzles, so I often reach for a diagram or ask whether there is another way to view a problem. Lessons can rebuild a topic or practise unfamiliar exam questions. For a mathematical exploration or scientific investigation, I help you develop your own questions, reasoning and interpretation. Teaching approach

Confirm AA, AI or Physics and the student's SL or HL level. Link two representations of an idea, work through one example and gradually remove prompts. Use course-specific exam questions and appropriate calculator practice. IA guidance develops the student's own decisions and analysis without providing an investigation to submit.
