About Ben

Getting the answer is satisfying; being able to explain why it is right is even better. I’m Ben, and I like helping students make that second step. If you can do a calculation but are unsure how to justify a conclusion, we work on the reasoning as carefully as the numbers. I support AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1 and 2, and AP Statistics. The common thread is reasoning from evidence: interpreting an experiment, choosing a model, checking a calculation and explaining what the result tells us. I enjoy strategy games, music and spotting statistics in everyday headlines, so lessons often begin with something worth being curious about. We then get specific about your course and the skill that needs practice. Expect labelled diagrams, short explanations and free-response questions that make you justify a conclusion. Before an exam, we review patterns in your mistakes and build a focused practice plan. Teaching approach
