About Emma

I’m usually the person reaching for a sketch before an equation. I’m Emma, and I enjoy making abstract ideas visible: a graph that explains a function, a force diagram that gives a problem a starting point, or an everyday example that makes a formula easier to remember. You can stop me whenever something needs a different explanation. I support BC Pre-Calculus 11 & 12, Foundations of Mathematics 11 & 12, Calculus 12, Physics 11 & 12 and Chemistry 11 & 12. We work on understanding the situation, choosing an approach and laying out the solution clearly. A graph, particle sketch or force diagram can give a calculation a useful starting point. Outside lessons I like walking and taking photos; inside them I bring the same habit of noticing details and looking from another angle. If revision feels overwhelming, we identify which concepts need rebuilding and practise them in manageable stages, with room for you to explain each step yourself. Teaching approach

Start with the student's exact BC course and one question that reveals their thinking. Use a diagram, graph or particle model to connect the concept to the calculation. Move from a guided example to independent practice, checking units, significant figures and reasoning where relevant. Finish with a focused revision task.
