About Maya

Understanding the science and explaining it clearly are two different skills, and we work on both. I’m Maya, and I enjoy helping students turn a fuzzy idea into an explanation they can defend. I am happy to pause for the question you think you should already know the answer to; it often unlocks everything that follows. I focus on IB Biology and Chemistry at SL and HL. We connect the big ideas, interpret unfamiliar data and practise recognising what a command term asks you to do. I love a good science podcast and tend to collect interesting ‘why’ questions, so curiosity has a real place in lessons. Expect simple sketches, space to test an explanation and precise feedback on your answers. Biology sessions might trace a process through a diagram; Chemistry sessions might connect a particle model to a calculation. For an internal assessment, I guide your planning and scientific reasoning while keeping the investigation and assessed writing your own. Teaching approach

Confirm the IB subject, SL or HL level and current topic. Use a short question to uncover the misconception, build a clear model and practise applying it to unfamiliar data. Review scientific language and command terms. Offer IA feedback on the student's own planning, methods and analysis.
