About Rachel

I like science best when the details begin to tell a story. I’m Rachel, and I help students connect a process, a diagram and an explanation so that revision becomes more than trying to memorise another page. If a topic feels like a collection of unrelated facts, that is a good place for us to begin. I support Alberta Biology 20 & 30 and Chemistry 20 & 30, including Biology 30 and Chemistry 30 Diploma Exam preparation. We can work on calculations, interpreting data, explaining a process or deciding what evidence a question needs. I enjoy cooking and growing herbs, and often use familiar examples to give an abstract idea somewhere to land. Lessons balance careful explanations with practice: I would rather hear a half-formed answer and help you improve it than have you stay quiet until it feels perfect. We also connect Grade 11 foundations to Grade 12 topics so that revision has a clearer structure. Teaching approach

Begin with a concept map, diagram or calculation from the current Biology or Chemistry unit. Ask the student to explain the connections, fill a specific gap and practise a new question. For Grade 12 Diploma preparation, focus on interpreting information, accurate calculations and clear scientific reasoning.
