About Adam
Hi, I’m Adam, and I help students following the BC curriculum with English, Math, introductory Physics and Computer Science, one manageable task at a time. We might work on reading carefully, organising a piece of writing or finding a way into a word problem. English and Math remain at the centre of my work. For students starting Physics, we can connect a graph or equation to motion, forces and energy. In introductory Computer Science, we use small programs to practise logical steps, trace what happens and explain a result clearly. These lessons draw on the same mix of reasoning and communication I enjoy in my main subjects. I keep the focus practical: understand what is being asked, choose an approach and check the result. You’ll have time to attempt things yourself, and we can pause whenever a step needs more explanation. My aim is for you to leave knowing what to try next when you sit down to work on your own.
Tutoring experience
I’ve worked with BC students who need support in both English and Math, often moving between the two as school assignments change. Some have needed regular help with classwork; others have come with a particular writing task or a topic to revisit. I've also helped learners apply their Math in introductory Physics and begin programming, including reading graphs, checking units and following a short piece of code. That mix has shown me how often reading and reasoning overlap. A student may know the calculation but miss a detail in the question, or have a good idea without knowing how to put it into words. Those are familiar starting points in my tutoring.
Teaching approach
We finish with a short note in your own words: what helped today, and where you could use it again. It gives you something useful to return to between lessons.
