About Ethan
Hey, I’m Ethan, and I tutor Biology, Chemistry, general Science, Math and introductory Physics for Ontario students who want a bit more room to ask why. Biology and Chemistry are my main specialisms. I also help with Grades 7–10 Math and the foundations of Physics, including motion, forces and energy. Sometimes the science clicks once we've made sense of the graph, rearranged the equation or drawn what's actually happening. Bring a confusing class topic, an upcoming test or a question you’ve tried three times already. We’ll use your schoolwork to keep things relevant, with plenty of conversation and sketches along the way. I’ll often ask you to predict what happens next, then look at the evidence together. If an explanation doesn’t land, we’ll find another way into it. You can bring the messy version of your thinking, say what you’re unsure about and have another go. That gives us something useful to work with.
Tutoring experience
I’ve tutored Ontario students through Biology, Chemistry and general Science, including weekly classwork and revision when several topics pile up at once. A familiar starting point is, “I know the notes, but I don't know what to do with the question.” I’ve helped students read experiment results, explain changes on a graph and connect a reaction to what its particles are doing. Having studied both Biology and Chemistry is useful when those ideas overlap. I've also helped students strengthen the school Math behind their calculations and work through introductory Physics questions about motion, forces and energy. The conversations after a wrong prediction have often been the best part of a session.
