About Samuel
I like lessons where we can test an idea, spot what went wrong and try again. I'm Samuel, and I tutor Alberta Math, Physics and Computing Science. My main focus is senior high school: Math 10C, 20-1 and 30-1, Physics 20 and 30, and the programming modules students meet in CTS. A graph, a short piece of code or a sketch of a moving object can make an abstract rule much easier to understand. I'll help you connect those representations so that choosing a method starts to feel less like guesswork. Away from tutoring, I enjoy cycling and tinkering with small coding projects, including ones that take far longer to fix than I expected.
Tutoring experience
Over three years of tutoring, I've supported students moving into high school math, preparing for unit tests and learning to debug their first programs. That has included regular one-to-one lessons and small revision groups. In Physics, I've helped students work through units, diagrams and multi-step calculations; in Computing Science, I've guided them through planning, testing and explaining their own solutions. I also help students make useful revision notes from the mistakes in their marked work.
Teaching approach
We start with a question you can attempt, then examine the point where you become unsure. I'll model a similar example before you try a fresh one independently. At the end, we agree on a small amount of practice and a specific skill to revisit next time.
